The Senior Hong Kong Schools Debating Championship

The Senior Hong Kong Schools Debating Championship (Sr HKSDC) is the premier secondary school debating competition, bringing together the brightest students from all schools in Hong Kong for a one day tournament. Each school will be guaranteed at least 4 debates.

The championship is for senior (Form 4-6 or Years 10-13) students with the best debaters selected as to be part of the Hong Kong Squad. Squad members will receive regular training and and will be selected to represent Hong Kong at the World Schools Debating Championship.

Participants in the Sr HKSDC are invited to take part in the organization of the Jr HKSDC. This allows Senior students to go beyond just debating and to actively promote and support debating in Hong Kong. Organizers can also use the organization of the Jr HKSDC for various academic requirements.

Rules and Format

The Senior Hong Kong Schools Debating Championship will adopt the official ‘World Schools Debating’ format with some modifications in light of time constraints.
