World Individuals Debating and Public Speaking Championship

The World Individuals Debating and Public Speaking Championship (WIDPSC) is the tournament which brings together the finest high school debaters and public speakers from around the world to compete and to learn from each other. All competitors must take part in four events: debating, impromptu speaking, interpretive speaking and either persuasive speaking or after-dinner speaking.

The championship is for senior (Form 4-6 or Years 10-13) who excelled at the Hong Kong at the World Individuals Debating and Public Speaking Championship and were selected to represent Hong Kong at WIDPSC. Since Team Hong Kong began appearing at WIDPSC in 2008, the team has gone from strength to strength. In Reading, UK, 2009, Team Hong Kong made 4 finals and included individual rankings of 18 and 20. In Druskininkai, Lithuania, 2010, Team Hong Kong made 7 finals and snatched individual rankings 6, 16 and 20.
